About Me

The Beginning

I, Samaneh Roudbarmohammadi, was born in the beautiful historic Darband neighborhood of Tehran. As a teenager, following a trip to Belgium, I discovered the French language, which marked the beginning of my deep passion for it. This fascination led me to pursue university studies, and my academic journey continued until I obtained a Ph.D. in French Language and Literature.

Teaching & Education

Shortly after starting university, I began teaching and soon found my true calling: "learning and teaching"! Today, the result of this journey is my position as a Senior French Lecturer and Examiner. For over 20 years, hundreds of students have benefited from my knowledge and experience to learn French and succeed in prestigious international exams (such as DELF, DALF, TEF, and TCF). Furthermore, through numerous teacher training workshops, I have had the honor of passing on my pedagogical expertise to many aspiring French language teachers.

International Activities & Personal Development

Continuous study and the pursuit of firsthand knowledge of global trends in French language education have been the cornerstones of my success. As a result, I have received numerous scholarships in the fields of teaching methodology and teacher training from prestigious institutions, including residencies in Avignon, Grenoble, and Nantes in France, as well as Istanbul in Turkey. I have also presented numerous papers at renowned national and international conferences, including at Kyoto University in Japan, Nabeul University in Tunisia, and Allameh Tabatabai University in Tehran.

Translation & Social Responsibility

For me, translation is another form of personal commitment and social responsibility. In the early stages of this journey, I translated into Persian A Womans Story (Une Femme) and Shame (La Honte) by Annie Ernaux (winner of the 2022 Nobel Prize in Literature), as well as Pieces (En morceaux) by Charles Juliet. Currently, another work by Annie Ernaux is about to be published, and I am working in parallel on the translation of yet another of her works. As a testament to my mastery of the art of translation, in 2025 I won the "Literary Translation Competition of the French Embassy" in Tehran — a success that earned me a two-month residency at the International College of Literary Translators (CITL) in France.
